Denis Rothman

About
Denis Rothman is an artificial intelligence and machine learning expert whose career bridges academic research and applied industry deployment. As an independent consultant and founder of Rothman AI, he has spent more than fifteen years working on AI projects across finance, healthcare and technology, where he has implemented data-driven strategies that move organisations from algorithmic curiosity into operational capability.
His earlier roles include co-founding Planilog and Interlang, alongside positions as an AI author and developer at IBM. That mix of entrepreneurial and enterprise experience underpins his approach to teaching, which consistently focuses on the working methods practitioners need rather than the abstract theory that fills textbooks. He is particularly known for his work on transformer architectures, retrieval-augmented generation, and the practical engineering challenges of bringing modern AI systems into production.
Rothman is the author of two of the most cited applied AI books in the Packt catalogue, RAG-Driven Generative AI and Transformers for Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision. Both have become reference works for engineering teams working with modern language models, and both are part of the ExpertEdge book to course catalogue, transformed into structured video lessons, modular reading and assessments designed for enterprise LMS deployment.
His current focus continues to span the intersection of research and application, with workshops, publications and consulting engagements that keep him at the forefront of advances in machine learning. For L&D leaders building applied AI capability, his work on ExpertEdge offers the kind of grounded, deployment-aware perspective that engineering audiences trust, particularly relevant in the context of why most B2B learning libraries fail engineering teams.
