Why we created ExpertEdge

Over the last few years we kept hearing the same frustration from L&D leaders. They had invested in good learning platforms, but filling them with high quality content was still hard. Too often what was available had been built around old models of learning. Long instructor-led video courses. PDFs and ePubs that worked badly inside an LMS. Content that went out of date quickly, or sat locked inside separate apps.

We knew there had to be a better way. At Packt we had thousands of books and video courses, all built with a strong editorial process and real learning design behind them. The challenge was making that content work the way modern learners expect, so it was searchable, interactive, accessible and delivered inside the platforms organisations already use.

That is where ExpertEdge began. We realised we could take this structured content and turn it into full courses, not flat files or videos but proper courses that feel like a natural part of the learning experience. We built the capability to keep those courses up to date so they never go stale. And we partnered with Rheinwerk, Rosenfeld Media and ACI Learning, among others, to widen the range of topics and skills we could cover.

The result is a growing catalogue of high quality, interactive courses that run natively inside any LMS or LXP. No extra apps to install and no clunky files to wrangle, just learning content that is ready to use.
